Beef Stroganoff

Creamy, beefy, mushroomy…and it’s easy to make! This should be your go-to comfort food.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 1/2 garlic, chopped

  • 1/4 onion, chopped

  • 1/2 cup mushroom slices

  • 450g thinly sliced beef

  • 1 cup beef broth *Note

  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 cup sour cream

  • 1/4 cup cream (35% fat)

Directions

  • Melt butter in a saucepan over medium low heat.
  • Sauté garlic, onion, and mushroom, and set aside.
  • In the same pan, add beef and turn heat to medium high. Cook until tender.
  • Add 3/4 cup broth and let it simmer.
  • Add Worcestershire sauce, and stir until it gets incorporated. Turn heat to low.
  • Mix flour and 1/4 cup broth in a small bowl.
  • Pour flour mixture into the saucepan and stir until sauce slightly thickens. Let it simmer.
  • Turn heat to medium low. Add in the sautéed ingredients from Step 2 and stir.
  • Add sour cream and heavy cream into the saucepan. Mix everything well, until sauce lightens.
  • Season with salt and pepper, continue stirring until desired sauce thickness.

    Garnish with parsley, and serve with rice or pasta.Beef Stroganoff

Notes

  • No beef broth? Use vegetable broth instead.
